Our club runs our races off a program that a member wrote. The program involves transponders, these transponders are inside each and every one of our boats. So as the boat comes through the start/finish line, it counts it. The program gives you the times, speed and position of the boat in the race.

water cooled boats

These boats run on a simple system of cooling. As they don't have enough air flowing through them the must be water cooled. It's a simple system involving a pick up and an out let. once the water enters the boat it is carried through tubes to the engine and the exhaust, it then travels out the boat through the out lets. The boats usually have more that one sources of water flow.

Having the best prop for your boat is very important. If the prop is to big the engine won't rev like it should and will bog the engine down. On the other hand if the prop is too small the boat will over rev and wont get enough tourque on the water. Having a balanced prop is very important. If the prop is not balanced when it spins it will cause vibration in your boat. I balance and sharpen all my own props.

The biggest problem with boats is that there is water involved, as you can imagine electrics dont like water! so to keep all your electrics dry and safe you need to put them in what we call an "electrical box" this consists of a box that is shaped to the boat and is fixed in, it needs to be see through to see that all your wires and electrical components are all working.

about gas boats

we cal these boats gas boats because in America they call their petrol gas, we order almost everything from them so we just go with their terminolagy. they have an engine size of 26cc.
